Profile of a Dancer at Moulin Rouge
I love the shadow play in Carla Coulson’s photos of the Moulin Rouge, but did a lousy job at capturing it with this drawing.
I wanted to bin this one, it did not turn out the way I wanted it but decided to post it anyway. I am getting a bit frustrated with oil pastels, can’t seem to get the outlines and shades that I wanted. Maybe I’ve just exhausted the sticks that I have, as I am fond of really putting a lot of pressure on them when I color. Now I am left with a box of broken stubs (I just realized that my lipsticks suffers the same fate too, he he).

draw a dugong!
draw a cicada!!!
you can borrow my crayola (actually my daughter's, because she's abandoned them after discovering the beauty and messiness of water colours and poster colours).
Ylanda & Babe:
Ayoyo..!! never thought I'd start getting requests pulak....ingat ni macam nyanyi karaoke ka? LOL
Dugong and cengkerik? Hmm..not quite in the zone for those yet la...
Thanks for the suggestions tho :)
PS. Babe: kalau tak messy tak puas mah..:)
kalau tak mo cengkerik takpa. lukis lah gambar sotong kering yg baru keluar mesin tu. pastu tabur cili atas dia. even better if you could incorporate the bau too!!!!
WOW!!
hang cuba guna oil pastel tu kat kertas gelap lak..instead of using the same white paper...mungkin masaalah outline dan highlight or shadow buleh diimprove...maybe
anyway..muka model tu mcm one of the model from victoria secret 2005 catalogue (koleksi opis punya la)...oppps
Talent is a flame. Genius is a fire.
Babe: for a person who really likes sotong kering, you must have really strong jaw muscles. :P
Look-luck: Ah? Victoria Secret Catalogue in the office? Hang kerja kat kilang buat baju dalam ghopanya..he he he.
yup, pastels works better on colored paper. Susah nak detail sebab the drawing kecik (sabik nak muat scanner yg kecik lah ni), pastels tu semua dah tumpul & kontot2 sebab aku dok galak menenyeh...
whens ur bday?
i present kat u crayola jela
ylanda: YEHAY!! 20th next month!
*happy! happy! joy! joy!* :D
awang, he he he..i was just discussing this with my buddy who's in commercial arts -> why i was reluctant to get into it. it's this very nature of having to comply to your 'customers'.
Pressure wohhh! :D
Rasa macam dalam dueling scene cerita koboi pulak, orang asyik dok kata "Draw!" berkali2..he he
Haiya, 20th is the date la, not my age...but thanks for the early wishes.
what's the age then?
babe: tambah lagi patblaih :P
art is expression ... it can never be perfect and there's no wrong or right. just draw wot u feel ... at least that's what I do when I paint on a canvas ;-)
Lx, yeah, i get what you mean. but perfection (not that i believe it is attainable in the truest form) that i was trying to come close to; is to transfer the 'image' onto paper as close as i see it in my head.
anyway, thanks for the encouragements. really appreciate it. :)
these are practice for a project I’ve been meaning to start. A series of dreamscapes
cepatla update!
oke..oke..sabar yang, baru dapat idea.
was a bit tied up today as i had to play supir to a flying cat with a wonky knee.
